The Friends of Wareside Church is a charitable incorporated organisation registered with The Charity Commission. It was set up in 2016 to coincide with the 175th anniversary of the completion of the construction of the church building. The organisation is secular in nature and its purpose is to foster public interest in and encourage use of the church building and its grounds. Through its fund raising activities it aims to help finance the upkeep and preservation of the building and grounds for current and future generations to enjoy.
The building is an important listed landmark within the village. The grounds are a haven for wildlife including several bat species and birds. It is also home to many mature trees and some interesting plant species. The Friends feel that the building and grounds should be made available for more local people to enjoy. With this aim in mind, they organise events throughout the year which have the dual purpose of fundraising and community-building.
All funds raised through these events and from other donations will be spent on the upkeep of the building and grounds.
